Who is responsible for your information

Sustainable Art is the data controller for information collected through this website. Privacy enquiries may be sent to hello@sustainableart.org.uk.

Information we collect

We may collect information that you provide through artist applications, correspondence and contact forms. This can include your name, email address, professional information, website links and the content of your message or application. The website may also receive limited technical information needed for security and reliable delivery. Please do not submit confidential or sensitive personal information unless it is necessary and we have asked you to provide it.

Analytics

We use GoatCounter for aggregate website measurement. It operates without cookies or persistent personal identifiers and does not store visitors’ IP addresses. The information helps us understand which pages are used and improve the editorial resource.

How information is used

Information is used to respond to enquiries, record requests to hear about future newsletter subscriptions, assess editorial applications, maintain appropriate records and protect the website from misuse. We do not sell personal information or use it for behavioural advertising.

Newsletter interest

The website does not currently add visitors to an automated mailing list. If you email to register your interest, your address will be used only to respond to your request and, with your agreement, to let you know when newsletter subscriptions open.

Lawful bases

Enquiries and artist applications are handled because you have asked us to take steps or because we have a legitimate interest in responding, maintaining editorial records and operating the website responsibly. Where consent applies, it may be withdrawn at any time.

Retention and sharing

General correspondence is normally reviewed for deletion within 24 months of the last substantive exchange. Applications that are not taken forward are normally reviewed for deletion within 12 months. Records connected with published material, permissions, corrections, disputes or legal obligations may be retained for longer where they remain necessary.

Limited information may be handled by carefully selected providers, including Formspree for website forms and GoatCounter for aggregate analytics, as well as providers supporting email, hosting and security. Form submissions may be processed in the United States or other countries, while GoatCounter’s hosted service stores data in Finland and Germany. International processing is handled subject to applicable data-protection safeguards.

Your rights

UK data-protection law may give you rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and to object to certain processing. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
